Provided by AGP"Pakistan does not see any immediate danger vis-a-vis resumption of war despite the ongoing deadlock, as Washington and Tehran are seriously pursuing a diplomatic way out to end the conflict," a source told according to reports, referring to US President Donald Trump’s dismissal of Tehran’s latest response to Washington’s proposal aimed at ending the conflict.
The sources also indicated that Trump is seeking to avoid renewed military escalation ahead of his planned visit to China.
Trump wrote Sunday on his Truth Social platform that he had reviewed the response from Iran’s “so-called representatives” and called it “totally unacceptable.”
Iran later reacted by saying Trump’s rejection of its proposal “doesn’t matter at all.”
Officials in Islamabad, according to the sources, intend to continue mediation efforts in hopes of narrowing differences between the two sides despite their firm public positions on key matters, especially Tehran’s nuclear activities.
"Back-channel contacts are continuing despite harsh tones from both sides, with several regional countries, including Qatar and Egypt, assisting Islamabad in its mediatory efforts," a source said.
The sources added that Qatar and Egypt remain involved in supporting Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at easing tensions and encouraging dialogue.
