Trump Applauds B-2 Pilots’ Contribution in Iran-Israel Ceasefire
Taking to Truth Social, Trump emphasized, "We couldn’t have made today’s 'deal' without the talent and courage of our great B-2 pilots, and all of those associated with that operation."
He described the operation’s timing as pivotal, saying, "In a certain and very ironic way, that perfect 'hit,' late in the evening, brought everyone together, and the deal was made!!!" The president was referring to recent US airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
Beginning June 13, Israel launched attacks on Iran’s nuclear and military installations, accusing Tehran of nearing the development of a nuclear weapon. Iran, which denies pursuing nuclear arms, responded with missile strikes.
The US then executed precision bombings early Sunday on three major Iranian nuclear facilities located at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. Trump asserted that these strikes “completely and totally obliterated” the targeted sites.
Iran retaliated with a missile strike against the US military’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday evening. Thankfully, the attack caused no significant damage or casualties. This sequence of actions culminated in what Trump dubbed "The 12 DAY WAR."
The ceasefire, first announced by Trump, outlined a staged halt to hostilities: Iran would cease operations first, followed by Israel after 12 hours, leading to a full cessation by the 24th hour.
Reports from Israeli media indicated Qatar played a key role in brokering the agreement.
Later, President Trump confirmed the ceasefire was active and issued a stern warning to both parties: "THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!"
