US Issues Regional Travel Alerts
In Kuwait, the US Embassy urged its staff to remain especially cautious and introduced temporary limitations on activity at key military sites.
Access to Camp Arifjan, Camp Buehring, Ali Al Salem Air Base, and Camp Patriot has been restricted to vital personnel only.
US nationals were also cautioned about the likelihood of flight delays, cancellations, and other unexpected travel problems.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Airways announced the preventive halt of outgoing flights in response to the volatile situation.
In Bahrain, the US Embassy in Manama temporarily moved its staff to remote work arrangements because of what it called "heightened regional tensions."
Citizens were urged to be more careful and to avoid unnecessary movement.
While the embassy continues to offer regular and emergency services, it cautioned that waiting times may be longer than usual.
Bahrain also closed its airspace for a short period after sirens were triggered across the nation during Iran’s strike on the US base in Qatar.
Additionally, the US State Department said that the American Embassy in Jerusalem will operate with reduced services from Tuesday through Friday, limiting consular assistance to emergency passport issuance only.
