Trump Says U.S. Attacks Inflicted "Monumental" Damage
Trump stated on his Truth Social platform, "The damage to the Nuclear sites in Iran is said to be 'monumental.' The hits were hard and accurate. Great skill was shown by our military," indicating the success of the mission.
The operation involved the deployment of six bunker-buster bombs by B-2 stealth bombers on Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility. In addition, a barrage of cruise missiles was launched from submarines targeting the Natanz and Isfahan sites.
Air Force Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, revealed that over 125 American aircraft were engaged in the operation. The fleet included stealth bombers, fighter planes, refueling tankers, reconnaissance aircraft, and a submarine equipped with guided missiles.
Caine confirmed that preliminary assessments indicated the facilities sustained "extremely severe" damage.
The level of destruction, he suggested, demonstrated the mission’s overwhelming effectiveness.
According to a U.S. official cited by a news agency, six American jets dropped twelve 30,000-pound (13,608-kilogram) bunker-busting bombs on Fordo.
While the facility was not entirely demolished, another senior official reported that the underground site was "severely damaged."
U.S. Vice President JD Vance went a step further, asserting that the military campaign had succeeded in dismantling Iran’s nuclear initiative.
