The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that seismic events registering level 4 on the nation’s seismic intensity scale of 7 were recorded twice on Sunday and once early Monday on Akuseki Island, which is part of the Tokara archipelago located in Kagoshima prefecture.
Tremors originating near the island chain have been repeatedly noticed since Saturday, signaling a period of heightened seismic disturbance in the region.
